Most of the Rubix Cube 80’s Party Band work is in the York, Leeds, Harrogate and East Coast areas of Yorkshire, but we will travel all over the UK.

Rubix Cube Eighties party band normally play 2 x 50 mins sets. We can provide 3 x 30 mins sets by prior arrangement. In addition we provide an encore.

We are able to offer these two options for greater flexibility to meet your needs when planning your event i.e.on size of Venue and PA required, along with your available budget. Both band formats guarantee a superb night of 80’s Party Music. The Trio format offers enhanced vocals which enable Rubix Cube to perform additional tracks that require three part harmonies. Due to the nature of Rubix Cube’s business many of the bookings are at private venues. However, occasionally we play public events, so it is always worth asking us.

Yes! Rubix Cube hold public liability insurance up to 3 million pounds and all electrical equipment is fully PAT tested.

The band can play as loudly or quietly as you like! We have played at many functions of differing size, and can tailor the volume to the size of the room and number of people. A highly experienced sound engineer controls all the PA equipment.

Rubix Cube provide the full eighties experience. This includes the costumes that the band members wear. Craig’s make up rivals anything that Boy George did, and John and Adam love the Electro Robotic, Kraftwerk influence. We encourage 80’s themed evenings where guests can join in the fun and dress up in 80’s gear!!

Rubix Cube will ask for a 25% deposit to secure your booking.

You will already have secured your event by paying a 25% deposit in advance. The remainder of your balance must be paid by Bank Transfer (BACS) directly into a nominated account 10 days prior to the event.

Yes! Rubix Cube have a stunning 4000W PA, and an intelligent LED lighting system designed for audiences of up to 500 people. For larger events we can recommend and link up with our lighting designers to create a bespoke sound and light show for your event.

We request a changing room suitable for 2 or 3 persons (depending on which show you book) and a stage/setting up area of at least 20 x 12 feet. The show is all electronic and requires adequate power supplies.

In order to deliver a fun packed, high energy show the band would appreciate food in the interval and light refreshments from arrival to departure.

In order for us to give you an accurate costing, we would firstly need to understand a little more about your event. Various things can affect the cost of hiring Rubix Cube, including the size and location of the venue, the length of time you want us to play and the equipment we will need to bring. Due to the nature of the songs we play we have designed our sets for the ultimate dance and light show event. However, with ample notice we may be able to accommodate special requests.

The band will perform at a wide variety of venues from pubs and village halls to stately homes, theatres, halls, hotel function rooms . The band will also perform in marquees or outdoors, under cover, if the weather allows it.

Usually we need at least 1.5-2 hours to set up the PA and sound check in advance of the performance. We prefer to carry out the sound-check before the arrival of guests where possible.

When a booking has been fully confirmed by the client and is then cancelled we work to the following criteria:
6 months – 25% of fee to be paid
3 months – 50% of fee to be paid
2 months – 75% of fee to be paid
1 month & under – 100% of fee paid
